It’s an exciting week to play the Sackville Rotary Goldmine draw! The jackpot is really getting high and some people wonder about how to play. Did you know
Each week, after the counting of toonies is complete, the winning token is drawn from a drum which contains one numbered token for each number registered. Because there is only one token for each number, there is no advantage to playing the same number more than once each week.

Rotarians gathered at the Visitor Information Centre this morning to hear Nona Robinson, Mount Allison’s Vice President Student Affairs, tell us about the realities of students at MTA today. Coming on the heels of Reunion/Convocation Weekend, her talk precipitated lots of discussion about the differences over time, the general and particular challenges students face, and the opportunities and supports that MTA provides for them. We had a fascinating and engaging conversation.

Dianne presented Nona with the traditional Rotary pen/stylus and showed her the book that would be donated in her name to the TRHS library. Appropriately, it was RenĂ©e Belliveau’s book, The Sound of Fire, which told of the fire that destroyed the men’s residence at MTA in 1941.

My oh my! Another rollover in the Sackville Rotary Goldmine draw. Number 1729 wasn’t played so next week’s jackpot will be approx $5300! Don’t forget to play your toonie!
