It was a tough decision this year with so many entries! Almost double what we had last year!

Thanks to the Rossland Library, Out of the Cellar, all three local schools and our two volunteer organizers Kathleen and Lesley.

Look out for some drawings on display at the Nelson and District Credit Union downtown.

Congratulations to all the participants and winners!

The pool is open!🙌

Thanks to City Operations for getting everything ready for opening day. The pool is looking great.

Passes are the best deal in town- $84 for the entire season. Open six days a week!

Relax, refresh, rehabilitate and recharge. The only workout where you can go home and not be all sweaty 🥵

See you at the pool!!🏊‍♀️

This could be a HUGE win for Surrey families. 🏊‍♀️💙

The City of Surrey is exploring a plan to make beginner swim lessons FREE for kids ages 3 to 12 — helping more children learn life-saving water skills without parents worrying about the cost.

Mayor Brenda Locke says swimming is “not a luxury, but a life skill” — and many parents online are already praising the idea.

If approved, the free lessons could begin as early as July 1.

For a growing city like Surrey, supporters say this is about more than recreation… it’s about child safety, confidence, and affordability.

Do you think more cities should offer free programs like this for children?
