We are disheartened to see this message left behind our building. We understand the concern this individual may have regarding some burnt wood stored by our building. However, this type of assumption can be harmful to our unhoused relatives. As there is a positive reason for these fire remnants.

Our ‘ Fire Side Chat with Kirby’ is a men’s group that meets once a month. They prefer to meet around a temporary fire pit and learn from a Knowledge Holder. This traditional and holistic way of connecting provides space for authentic sharing.

As this is private property, we will continue support our men meeting in this way. We will continue to follow all required bylaws regarding fire safety when utilizing our temporary fire pits. We will continue to monitor all activity around the centre.

Friday Nov. 6th. Weather permitting, after soup and bannock, the men's circle will be held outside around the fire pit. Please remember to dress for the weather.
