We (and you) have rescued almost 3,000 pounds of fruit! Cherries, plums, crabapples, damson, blackberries, apples & pears - oh my! We've been putting all this fruit into subsidized foodboxes, crafting it in our community kitchen, bringing people together to process, learn and connect, and it's finding its way into the ice cream at Good News Ice Cream, helping fund these programs!

We have a pickle though. Or should we say an apple???

Thousands of pounds of delicious apples need picking, but neither the pickers who are already signed up nor us as an organization have any more room or use for apples! Please get in touch if you'd like to pick apples - [email protected]

Today was all hands on deck in the Tiny Farm kitchen. We processed a huge amount of cherries with the help of youth from Camp Douglas - Leaders in Training program, a few amazing summer students and some fabulous volunteers. Hey people who like to eat! Here's the deal. Grants are getting harder to get. The need for food support and food programs is growing. Costs are double what they were 5 years ago to do the same amount of work. So we're doing a 50/50 draw!

So hard to describe the bubbles of happiness last night, so we'll give you a 40-second walk-through. So many strangers making good friends, seven gorgeous courses, and amazing music, all on the backdrop of the cutest little farm.

At this, our 2nd long table dinner of the season, we were wined and dined by incredible local chefs and creators:

Hello! We have an unusual situation! We have extra food!

Halfway through the foodbox program this year, and due to the amazing generosity of a couple of legacy donors this year, along with the incredible bounty of the Giving Garden in Gibsons (wow!), and our fruit picks through the Fruit Share Project, we are finding that our Foodbox Program often has extra produce each week!

If you are struggling with being able to afford healthy produce, please sign up, and we'll reach out week to week when we have extra Foodboxes. These ones are pay-what-you-can boxes.
