WILD ENCOUNTER ON THE TRAIL! Black Bear & Cub Spotted During a Mud to Moose Adventure!
Not every adventure goes exactly as planned... and that's what makes exploring the New Brunswick wilderness so exciting.
On this Mud to Moose Trail Adventure, we headed deep into the backcountry expecting another great day of riding, breathtaking scenery, and maybe—if we were lucky—a moose or two. Instead, we experienced something completely unexpected that reminded us just how wild these forests really are.
As we made our way along one of our remote trails, we noticed movement just off the side of the path. We slowed down immediately, and within seconds we realized we were looking at a black bear and her cub.
It was an unforgettable moment.
The mother bear was calmly watching us while keeping a close eye on her young cub. We maintained a safe distance, stayed quiet, and gave them plenty of space to continue through their natural habitat without feeling threatened. Watching these incredible animals interact in the wild was both exciting and humbling. Encounters like this remind us that when we ride these trails, we're visitors in their home.
One of the things we love most about operating guided side-by-side tours is that no two trips are ever the same. Some days we spot moose, deer, foxes, bald eagles, or countless other species that call New Brunswick home. Other days, nature surprises us with a rare wildlife encounter like this one.
