Have you ever wondered how much the gambling industry makes in a year? We've put together a chart to help illustrate just how much money comes from gambling in Saskatchewan.

In 2024-2025, a grand total of $811 Million dollars was collected in revenue. VLT's make up almost a third of that at $259 Million, and casinos make up just under half of the grand total when combining Sask Gaming and SIGA.

Are you surprised at these numbers? Tell us what you think!

Some wise words from someone shared with us after a presentation 😁
Understanding your limits and sticking to them is paramount when gambling. Sometimes the simplest boundaries are the strongest and most effective ones.

Simple plans can make a world of a difference!

Creating a budget for gambling is easier than you might think.

Start by calculating your total monthly expenses and covering essentials like rent, groceries, bills, and most importantly savings and other debt repayments. After a deep dive into your expenses, decide how much money you can afford to lose . It's important to remember that gambling is entertainment, NOT income.

Physically writing down the amount you are budgeting serves as a reminder every time you to gamble. It's important to reflect and check in with yourself before any gambling activity.
Keeping gambling money separate from everyday spending, and setting limits on time as well as money can help prevent gambling more than you intended.

Budgeting isn't about limiting yourself, it's about having awareness of your reality and finances. It makes sure that you can have fun and still protect yourself.

Most players are not aware that the mainstream online gambling sites/apps are considered “grey market’ sites, meaning they are neither legal nor illegal 🤯

Using grey market sites like Bet365, FanDuel, Draft Kings etc. comes with risks that are likely unknown to majority of players. They may not offer consumer protection, which means there is no Canadian regulator to help you. Disputes or unpaid winnings are hard to recover and some may be unreliable or loosely regulated.

Government regulated sites provide more security and safety for players compared to the grey market sites.
