Today the City of Regina | Municipal Government officially recognizes Wednesday May 6 2026 as World Maternal Mental Health Day. MMH Day happens on the first Wednesday of May each year.

Up to 1 in 5 women and birthing people will experience Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders. By proclaiming this day, we aim to break the silence, reduce stigma, and ensure every parent in our community knows that help is available.

Mental health is just as important as physical health and should be screened and treated just as often. Join us in honouring the families impacted by PMADs each year.

May 4 kicks off Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week! Join us between May 4-10 as we share Fast Facts about Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders and advocate for more support for families living with PMADs. Our intention is to help break down the stigma of living with a mental health condition and have honest conversations about the challenges of parenthood.

You are not alone. Help is available. Share this post to show your support and tag a new parent who might need to hear this.
