Kebaowek First Nation will soon see its perseverance pay off! After more than 10 years of hard work and determination, the community is on track to tap its first maple trees in the 2026–2027 season.

This sugar bush project is already having a positive impact on Kebaowek First Nation, enhancing autonomy, knowledge transfer, and local development opportunities.

Meegwetch to everyone who came out to celebrate International Women’s Day with us last night. It was truly wonderful to see so many women come together to celebrate and uplift one another.

A special Chi Meegwetch to **Noella** for leading the smudge and prayer; **Jackie, Tyra, and Cheyenne** for the beautiful drumming and singing; **Madeleine** for guest speaking—your words were truly inspiring; **Rhonda and Wendy** for cooking and serving such delicious food; **Cary** for her amazing and beautiful cupcakes; **Tina** from The Reveal Weddings and Events for the beautiful backdrop and table settings.

It was truly an amazing night celebrating the strength, connection, and spirit of women.

When women come together in ceremony, song, laughter, and support, we strengthen our community and honour the teachings of those who came before us. Thank you all for sharing your time, your spirit, and your kindness.
