Dragon Quest part 3 and final event occurred this weekend. The kids had to make a magic potion, use their compass to find a trailhead and then follow the red 'X's to the armory. A team lift was needed to move the heavy box out of the bush. They used the golden arrow from adventure #2 as a key to open the armory. They mixed the potion into the water and loaded up to fight the dragon and put him to sleep.
The kids received a Dragon Quest badge for the activity,
Scouter Davy (GC) presented the beavers with the North Star award. The kids showed him around the camp identifying the cleanup and repairs they have done. The beavers also shared their journals with Davy.
We concluded with a swim up for some of our beavers and finished of the event practicing the cubs grand howl.
Family camp follow and everyone had a great time!
Thank you to everyone for all the effort you put in to making it a great program!

Dragon Quest part 2 happened this weekend. The fairies captured the Colony C Beavers. To distract the fairies, the kids told them about their time in beavers while the others dug a tunnel under the prison wall. On the other side they got the next clue for the golden arrow. They then had to find ropes to descend to the lake, find materials for their sailboat and sail away onto their next adventure.
Great job kids!

Dragon Quest stage one happened today.
The kids battled for an envelope to practice defeating a dragon later this summer. They solved a cypher for there first clue and went into the bush to find it. The kids discovered the envelope only to have to ventured back to camp for clue 3. They had to make a fire and boil water to make the next clue magically appear... a magic wand! Using the magic wand another message was provided to find the grand map. Go to the beaver lodge. Then to troll bridge. The trolls were loud and grunting in anger as the kids grabbed the clue from the bridge. Off to find a lily pad like no other in the land of the lilies for the final step of the adventure for the grand map and spoils. X marked the spot and the grand map will lead them through the portal to the fairies in stage 2.

This weekend was all sections camp for 3rd Prince George West. From a large all section game to smaller all sections activities the kids were worn down. Section time allowed the kids to slow down and go fishing, take some personal time check out some wild life. On Sunday the GC gathered the groups together and held a 'scouts own', a time to reflect about the year in scouting.
From opening ceremony to closing ceremony, the kids had a great time.

A few weeks ago there was a fundraiser opportunity for all sections of 3rd Prince George West. The kids cleaned up a section of the highway north of town. Those that participated recieved their 'Roadside Cleanup' badge at all sections camp this weekend. Great job kids!

This week the colony C beavers did a STEM meeting. A water purification filter was built using cotton balls, sand, charcoal and rocks.
Taste test anyone?
We also made Mason bee hotels. We made tubes out of craft materials and packed them tight into the can with natural items from the forest. Decorations were also needed as they are 5 star hotels.
