💜 LET’S LIGHT UP PRINCE GEORGE IN PURPLE! 💜

Every purple light represents something powerful: hope, courage, solidarity, and a community that refuses to look away from intimate partner violence.

From October 15–30, Purple Light Nights reminds survivors that they are seen, believed, and supported. 💜

Join us in standing with survivors, honouring those whose lives have been impacted by violence, and shining a light on the importance of prevention, awareness, and change.

On October 4, communities across Canada come together for the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

We honour those who have been lost or remain missing, and stand with their families, loved ones, Survivors, and communities.

It is also a critical reminder that remembrance must be accompanied by action ❤️

We are beyond excited to share that we are this year's beneficiary for the Miracle On 3rd fundraiser, an annual community event that supports local non-profit organizations serving residents across the Prince George region.

Pattison Media’s Prince George Division announced the selection with the one-day fundraising campaign scheduled for November 25 at the corner of Winnipeg Street and Third Avenue.

The annual Miracle On 3rd event brings together radio, television and community partners to raise money and collect donations for a selected local charity. This year, 101.3 The River, 99.3 REWIND Radio and CKPG-TV will broadcast live from the fundraising site between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Residents will be encouraged to stop by and contribute through a donation drive-thru or by making financial donations on site. Organizers are also collecting welcome basket items for women and mothers who have secured housing and are beginning a new chapter in the community.

The event site will feature convenient parking, opportunities to meet local radio and television personalities, and refreshments for those taking part in the fundraiser.

This year’s campaign will focus on helping Phoenix Transition Society continue its work supporting women and children as they rebuild their lives and access the services they need to move forward safely and successfully.

In the meantime, please tune in to 101.3 or 99.3 as we gear up for this big day! We will continue to share and hope to connect leading up to this years' event.

We extend our gratitude to Pattison Media for choosing us this year. Women and children in our community deserve safety and security, and validation for their journey's forward in a most meaningful way. We could not do this work, without the continued support of our community and beyond!

We are still finding our words for how incredibly moving this project has been, and for the opportunity to experience such compassion and care for humanity. We cannot wait to witness all that this playhouse will bring to children and families we serve. It truly takes a community.

Fill a Purse for a Sister is back, and ABDC is once again a drop-off location!

From September 1 to December 1, you can help provide comfort, hope, and dignity to women and youth in crisis by filling a new or gently loved purse with personal necessities. Donations collected through the national campaign support shelters, crisis centres, and social services that assist women in need.

Most-needed items include: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tampons or pads, and deodorant.

You can also add a hairbrush, tissues, lip balm, a hat, a scarf, gloves, or a gift card. An encouraging note tucked inside your purse can add a thoughtful personal touch. All personal-care products should be new, unopened and preferably full-sized, and donated purses should be new or gently used and in good condition.

You can drop off filled purses at the Aboriginal Business Development Centre, 890 Vancouver Street, anytime during the campaign.
