The Independent Long-Term Care Councils Association of BC (ILTCCABC) is pleased to introduce its newly elected executive board following the Annual General Meeting held on Monday, September 28. As the provincial non-profit society representing long-term care (LTC) residents, families, and representatives, ILTCCABC enters this new season with a deeply dedicated leadership team. The newly appointed executive members are:

• Robyn McCorquodale — President

• Glen Koropchuk — Vice President

• Sohila Sherbafi — Treasurer

• Scott Campbell — Secretary

Today is National Seniors Day and International Day of Older Persons. 💛

Today, we celebrate older adults and the experience, knowledge, and connections they bring to our families and communities.

In long-term care, every resident deserves to be heard, respected, included, and supported with dignity.

We also recognize the families, caregivers, and care teams who support older adults every day.

Starting fall 2026, the Province is offering a time-limited RSV immunization program. The vaccine is available at no-cost in B.C. for:

Adults ages 75 and older
Long-term care and seniors’ assisted living residents ages 75 and older.

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

Today, we honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.

For long-term care communities, this is also a time to recognize and listen to Indigenous Elders, Survivors, residents, and families — and to respect the experiences and stories they choose to share.

May today be a time for listening, learning, reflection, and remembrance.

Every Child Matters.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day. 💜

Today, we recognize people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, along with the families, care partners, and care teams who support them.

A person living with dementia is always more than a diagnosis. Their voice, choices, relationships, memories, and life experiences continue to matter.

In long-term care, we can help create more dementia-inclusive communities by listening with patience, treating every resident with dignity and respect, and supporting families and care partners along the way.

Today and every day, let’s lead with understanding, kindness, and connection.
