Prince Albert Horticultural Society

Prince Albert Horticultural Society In January of 2014, several former Members and other interested people got together to begin the rebuilding of the Prince Albert Horticultural Society.

The Prince Albert Horticultural Society held its first meeting on March 27, 1930 in the Old City Hall Building (today's Arts Centre) to organize a Horticultural Show in August of that year. While activities of the Society originally centered around what became an annual Horticultural Show, in 1937-38 the Society was fundamental in establishing a permanent City Parks Board. After several decades of

enthusiastic activity and annual Horticultural Shows, involvement with Communities in Bloom, and hosting the Provincial Horticultural Show in 2005, attendance and membership numbers began to decline, and the Society became inactive.
