Learned something new today thanks to my nephew Johnny, who was participating in an Airsoft event at Southport.

I had the chance to stop by and see what it was all about. A big thank you to Southport for providing the space for activities like this that bring people together and create opportunities for recreation and connection in our region. Looks like everyone had a great weekend!

Councillor Nicholls, Councilor Porter, Councillor Masi, Deputy Mayor Doyle and I had a beautiful day in Island Park as our community came together to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day.

A special thank you to the Portage Friendship Centre for hosting this wonderful event, and to all those who helped make it happen, the volunteers, Elders, dancers, drummers, singers, organizers, and community members who shared their time, talents, and culture with us.

It was also great to welcome Premier Wab Kinew and have him spend time with our community today.

Thank you to everyone who attended. Days like this remind us of the importance of community, connection, and continuing to learn from one another. ❤️💛🖤🤍

Councillor Nicholls attended “Wonder in Allis Land” at Fort la Reine Museum yesterday, joining Allis-Chalmers enthusiasts, museum staff, and visitors for a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s largest indoor collection of Allis-Chalmers equipment. A great day celebrating local history, agriculture, and community. 🚜🧡

Councillors Porter and Masi were out in the community today representing City Council at both the PCI Flag Raising and the Alzheimer Society Walk for Alzheimer’s.

These events are important reminders of the strength that comes from community, culture, awareness, and support. The PCI Flag Raising recognizes and celebrates culture, while the Walk for Alzheimer’s brings people together to honour loved ones, raise awareness, and support those affected by dementia.

It’s always great to see residents coming together to support causes that matter and celebrate the diversity and compassion that make our community strong. 💙💛❤️💚

Our CEDI program team had the opportunity to attend the Yellowquill School PowWow today, and what a wonderful experience it was. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who put so much time, care, and effort into organizing this meaningful cultural gathering. It was inspiring to see the students proudly participating, dancing, and drumming.

Events like these create opportunities for learning, connection, and understanding. We are grateful to have been welcomed and to witness such a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and youth.

Thanks for the photos Tracey Asham 📸
