PAMBA will be donating our equipment and t-shirts to the ADSS STORM Basketball program to assist them with their events, such as this upcoming 3on3 tournament for elementary kids in grade 4-7 on Friday, April 11th.

PAMBA was also an umbrella organization that assisted in running our local Ladies and Men's Basketball leagues. We would also like to thank Black Dog Fencing in supporting these 2 leagues in which we were able to donate over 100 pair of shorts to the ADSS PE Dept last spring.

Port Alberni Minor Basketball Association is announcing its closure after 10 years of operation. With the dedication of numerous volunteer coaches, both adult and junior, our programs focused on teaching fundamental basketball skills to help youth develop a deeper understanding of the game and play at a higher level. As a not-for-profit organization, we want to express our gratitude to the following groups for their ongoing support over the years: Alberni Valley Lions Club, Island Health, Arrowsmith Rotary, and the Port Alberni Toy Run.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents and participants over the years for their support and for helping create so many memorable moments.

Congratulations to Ella McDougall and Keelan Parmar, recipients of PAMBA bursaries at ADSS's 2024 Scholarship night back in June. Ella has helped both as a junior coach and referee during PAMBA camps over the past year. Always cheerful with the young players in the program. Keelan has been with PAMBA since its inception back in 2016. Participating as a player for many years before moving up to be a junior coach and referee within the program. Keelan could always be counted upon to help whenever needed. Good luck to both in their future endeavors.

And that's a wrap to our Spring 3on3 sessions. Lots of sweat, fun and smiles.

Great development model: Players always 1 pass away providing tons of decision making and ball touches.

On offence: Pass and then make a decision on next best action: 1: Basket cut 2: Screen away or 3: set a ball screen....don't stand still watching your pass.

On defense: Depending on how good my check is, do I sag or tightly guard when they have ball? When my check doesn't have the ball, do I sag into help spot or deny my check receiving a pass.

Thanks to all the players, parents, referees and support from Alberni Valley Lions and Port Alberni Toy Run.

Great ending to our spring 2024 session. Kids had a chance to meet PAMBA alumni, Isaac Jack! Oh...and then our famous lemon relay race to end it all off...with some jumbo freezies to take away the sour taste.

DATES: 2 sessions: Friday, May 24 (League Play) and Friday, May 31 (Tournament Play, with placing medals)

TIMES: 3:00-6:00pm (will send out email to each team a couple days prior to each session with aprox. game times)
​Teams play three - 20 minute games each night.

LOCATION: ADSS GYM (back of ADSS entrance)

Divisions:
GIRLS: (grades 6-7) and (grades 8-9)
BOYS: (grades 6-7) and (grades 8-9) and (grade 10-11)

TEAMS:
Your team will consist of at least 3 players to a maximum of 4 players.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Tuesday, May 21st.​​​​​
