Discover Placentia with Steve Mills! The next session in the Discover Placentia Speaker Series is set for 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 29th at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre.
For years, Steve Mills has played an important role in the archaeology of the Placentia area by directing and conducting excavations in addition to completing the associated historical research. In 2007, he shared his knowledge and expertise in an archaeological field course supported by the Town of Placentia, Service Canada and the College of the North Atlantic.
For his talk, Steve Mills will share his understanding and interpretations of the history that, since 2006, has been revealed in the annual archaeological excavations in Placentia as well as through historical research. He will also take some time to present some of the findings from the analysis of artefacts discovered during the most recent excavation this past summer.
We’ve all seen the cluster of determined and committed archaeologists working at the various sites over the years in Placentia. So, come listen to Steve Mills as he explains some of what they’ve discovered and learned!
Free admission. Tea, coffee, juice and sweets will be served
