My first stop on my visit to Dunville.
This is the view as you arrive in Dunville, coming in from Ferndale Road.

To ensure you saw the landscape as I did, I filmed this in 3x zoom.

While many shots taken at a distance often appear as tiny, indistinct specks on a mobile screen, this approach brought the rugged coastline and the houses along the hills into clear focus.

Capturing The Heart of Point Verde: A True Local Perspective

A gentleman reached out to me last night on Facebook with an incredible offer: to take me out to the Point Verde Lighthouse to see some of the spectacular sights the area has to offer, including a unique view that locals call "The Heart."

He has asked to remain anonymous, but he didn't just drive me there and sit back in the truck. He joined me on the ground, walking the terrain and pointing out details I easily would have missed had I been out there on my own. He explained that this particular vantage point is actually the only place around Placentia where you can clearly see what locals call "The Heart" in the cliffs—"Creve Coeur"—if you were to walk right up to where it actually is, you wouldn't even be able to see it properly.

I was completely captivated—not just by the raw, breathtaking scenery, but by his personal stories and memories of spending time at this beautiful spot as a young adult.

It is a truly special experience to be guided by a local resident who knows the history and holds such a deep love for the land. This is just one of many small clips and pictures I took today from that phenomenal vantage point.

I will be publishing these clips and videos over the next few days. It's just going to take some time for me to get it all together and get the editing done.

The Argentia Lookout

I spent the whole afternoon out in Argentia, staying until around 6:00 to get through the trails and the lookouts. It was a productive day with a lot of ground covered.

I’ve got more photos and videos from the trek to come that I’ll be publishing over the next day or two.

Perspectives of The Arm

Spent some time yesterday down at the Griffith family Wharf, getting a few different angles of the Arm, or what you could call Bonds Path, Southeast.

There was a rugged, quiet energy down by the water, especially with the camera held low to the rocks. These five shots show the harbour from a natural 4:3 perspective—no filters or zooming, just the raw look of the shoreline and the hills across the water from that afternoon.

Wind-Driven Waves at the Great Beach

Experience the raw power of the Placentia coast as strong winds send Atlantic waves rolling in over the stones. This slow pan captures the natural symphony of the gale, the crashing surf, and the soaring gulls.

I headed out to the Regatta Grounds today hoping for some steady shots, but the wind was coming from every direction and had other plans.

Despite the weather, I managed to capture this view of the back of the Placentia Mall and the area where the new walking trail is, panning around to Eastside. I'll be heading back on a calmer day to get the rest, but this shows exactly what I was up against today.

A quiet afternoon at the Jerseyside Wharf in Placentia. Captured with a 3x zoom to really bring out the character of these local vessels.
