It was a pleasure to gather today to celebrate the unveiling of Spirit of Youth, a remarkable mural created by the talented artist Ava Horwood.

This mural is more than paint on a wall—it is a celebration of the energy, creativity, resilience, and hope that young people bring to our community.

Through vibrant colour and thoughtful design, Spirit of Youth reminds us that every generation has the power to inspire change, build connections, and shape a brighter future.
Public art has a unique way of bringing people together. It transforms ordinary spaces into places of reflection, conversation, and pride.

Today, this mural becomes a lasting symbol of the imagination and potential that lives within our youth and within our community.

On behalf of everyone, thank you, Ava, for sharing your talent and vision with us. Your work will inspire residents and visitors alike for years to come.

Thank you to Councillor Debb PItel and Councillor Chad Hyatt for your advocacy for youth-led activities in Petrolia!

To view the mural, please visit the Victoria Hall parking lot and look North. 🎨🫶
