Operation Catnip Peterborough Trap/Neuter/Return and Maintain of feral and abandoned cats. Since April 2013 Operation Catnip has TNR’d over 2000 cats in over 470 colonies.

We are committed to making a difference in the lives of feral and abandoned cats in Peterborough and surrounding areas through our Trap, Neuter, Return, and Maintain program. Working with community partners, our mission is to reduce suffering of and to control the population of feral cats in our community by providing TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) and preventative educational services within the City o

f Peterborough and surrounding areas. OC is run entirely by volunteers dedicated to helping feral cats in the most humane way possible.

The first two babies were dropped off by someone at a boat launch. We trapped them, they went for their spa day. 🐾💕

The third cat was trapped and has also been through her spa day. She’ll be returning to her caring caregiver. ❤️

Just want to do a shout out to Windsors Dry Cleaning Centre. We usually have around 20 tablecloths plus stained napkins that have to be pre-treated, cleaned and pressed after every high tea. Blueberry compote, tea, whipped cream - you name it and it gets spilled! We send our cleaning out to Windsors Dry Cleaning so that they can be pristine and ready for our next high tea. Mike Murduff and his team do an incredible job with our tablecloths. The process is quite extensive and it saves us hours and hours and hours of work. If you have anything special that you need to have drycleaned, don't hesitate to use Windsor Dry Cleaning Centre on Parkhill Road in Peterborough! Thank you Mike for always having our back!

What an incredible high tea we hosted on Sunday. We had a full house and there was SO. MUCH. LAUGHTER. It's only the middle of July and we are now COMPLETELY SOLD OUT for this summer. We have started a waitlist for August 9 and September 13. We have guests coming from Belleville, Toronto, Pickering and Montreal for our August tea. About 40% of our guests are repeat attendees from last year! Thank you everyone for your wonderful support of Operation Catnip Peterborough. We are so grateful to you! ✨ Sally and Oscar have officially had their spa day! ✨

These two did wonderfully through the TNR process and are now recovering well. Once they've had some time to rest and heal, they'll be heading back home to the amazing caregiver who looks after them every day.

This sister and brother duo enjoyed their spa days yesterday! ❤️🐾

The female we trapped is the mom of the three kittens we shared in our previous post (Please see attached cuddle puddle pic for more kitten cuteness). Her brother joined her for his spa day as well! Both have now been spayed and neutered and will be returned to the place they know best, where their wonderful caregiver will continue to care for them.

Just a quick reminder:

Operation Catnip is looking for committed, reliable, and passionate volunteers to join our team.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help with:
🐱 Trapping
🐱 Pre- and post-operative care
🐱 Transportation to and from our veterinary partners
🐱 Administrative support

We're also urgently looking for a pre- and post-operative holding space.
We're searching for a safe, secure indoor space where cats can stay before and after their spay/neuter appointments.

The space would ideally:
🏠 Be clean, dry, secure, and climate controlled
🏠 Have enough room to safely house our cats
🏠 Be accessible to our volunteers twice daily so they can feed and clean.
🏠 Be located in or around the Peterborough area
