We welcome school groups, preschools and daycares to our facility to learn and practice bike, pedestrian, and fire safety with our enthusiastic instructors.

Our facility is also available for private rentals -- we host many birthday parties during the summer months!

One of our choke cherry trees did not like last night's wind. It has been moved to the side, but if you are coming for public access today please stay clear. It is not there for climbing! It will be removed tomorrow.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the Summerland Wildfire right now — the families evacuated, the first responders working around the clock, and everyone breathing this heavy smoke. This has been a hard weekend for our community, and we're thinking of all of you.

Due to hazardous air quality, we've made the decision to pause Summer Camp for the week. The safety of the kids in our care always comes first.

While our grounds will remain open for public access, please note:
📍 Staff will not be onsite during this time
🌫️ Ash is present in the area
⏱️ We strongly encourage limiting time outdoors and keeping visits brief

Please take care of yourselves and each other. Stay safe, stay smart, and let's look out for our neighbours through this.

We hope to welcome your families back to Safety Village very soon. 💛

🚗 BC Long Weekend – Public Access Hours 🚗

Come roll, ride, and explore the Village this long weekend! Here's when we're open for Public Access:

📅 Saturday, Aug 1: 1:30 pm – 8:00 pm
📅 Sunday, Aug 2: 8:00 am – 12:30 pm & 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm
📅 Monday, Aug 3 (BC Day): 8:00 am – 8:00 pm

🌤️ A quick air quality note: Public Access is unstaffed time at the Village, so before you head over — especially with wildfire season in full swing — please check current air quality conditions for Penticton. We recommend a quick look at The Weather Network or Environment Canada's air quality index before you go, and use your own judgment about outdoor activity if smoke is present.

☀️ Planning a weekday visit to the Penticton Safety Village? Here's what you need to know! 🚲

Our Summer Camps are in full swing, which means the Village is busy with campers during the day!

🕓 Monday–Friday:
Public Access begins at 4:00 PM and continues until 8:00 PM, giving families plenty of time to come out for an evening ride.

📅 Be sure to check the daily calendar on our website before you visit, as hours may vary depending on programs, private bookings, and special events. www.PentictonSafetyVillage.ca

During Public Access:
🚲 Please bring your own bicycles.
⛑️ Helmets are required for all riders.
👋 Safety Village Society staff are not on-site during Public Access hours.

There are no bookings, which means the Penticton Safety Village is open for Public Access ALL DAY!
🕗 Open 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

🚦 Sunday
We only have one private booking, so there will be Public Access available in both the morning and evening.

A quick reminder about Public Access:
• It is FREE!
• The Safety Village Society is not on-site during Public Access hours.

📣 Parent PSA: Is anyone else's kids already saying, "I'm bored!"? 🙋‍♀️

If you're looking for a fun, active, screen-free way to keep your kids busy this summer, we've got you covered! 🚲☀️

We have a few spots still available in our upcoming Summer Camps, including:

🐾 Animal Discovery Week (August 17–21) – Our most popular week was completely full, but a few spaces have just become available!

🎉 We also still have spots available in our next two weeks of camp, so there's still time to make this summer one they'll remember.

From bike safety and outdoor adventures to games, crafts, and hands-on activities, every day is packed with learning and fun at the Penticton Safety Village.

We are open to public access today!

Things to remember as we move into more public access:

Public access is only when the Safety Village is not running programs, bookings, or private events. Check the calendar at www.pentictonsafetyvillage.ca
for daily hours.

Public access falls under the City of Penticton park bylaw. Society staff will not be on-site during public access. All Safety Village buildings are locked.

Washrooms are managed by the City and have their own hours.

The back gate will remain locked. When the Village is open to the public, the front and side gate will be unlocked.

We look forward to having more families experience the Safety Village and practice road safety skills!

📣 We're excited to share some big news!

Today, we're officially announcing the next chapter for the Penticton Safety Village.

As the last remaining Safety Village in British Columbia, we're proud to unveil a renewed vision made possible through significant community investment from City of Penticton - Municipality. Our recent revitalization has transformed the Village into a space that will continue providing hands-on safety education for generations to come.

But that's not all...

Beginning July 1, the Safety Village will be open to the public during daytime hours whenever programs and private bookings are not in session! Families will have even more opportunities to explore our miniature streets, enjoy the outdoor space, and experience this unique community asset.

We're also looking forward to celebrating our Grand Reopening and welcoming everyone back to see the incredible changes for themselves.
