FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED - Missing Person - Pembroke - 29 Sep 2026

After more than three years after Brianna TRAVERSEY's disappearance, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is renewing its appeal for information as investigators continue to search for answers.

Brianna TRAVERSEY was 29 years old when she was reported missing in Pembroke on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Since that time, Investigators have conducted extensive interviews and multiple searches as part of the ongoing investigation. Brianna was last seen in Petawawa. She would now be 32 years old.

While this remains a missing person investigation, foul play is suspected.

Brianna is described as:

- 5'8" (173 cm)
- 120 lbs (54 kg)
- Shoulder length hair, possibly dyed brown or red
- Several tattoos on hands, arms and legs, including a breast cancer ribbon tattoo on left shoulder and a Betty Boop tattoo on her right calf

The investigation is being conducted by the Upper Ottawa Valley Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. As investigators continue to seek information about Brianna's disappearance, the Government of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for her disappearance.

FATAL COLLISION - McNab/Braeside - 26 Sep 2026

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a two-vehicle fatal collision.

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, shortly before 3:30 a.m., emergency services responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a transport truck and SUV on Highway 17, near Calabogie Road.

The driver of the SUV, a 49-year-old from the Golden Lake area was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was assessed by EMS with no reported injuries.

Members of Renfrew OPP are continuing the investigation with support from the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage, and has not yet spoken with police, is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or ValleyTips.ca.

ARMED ROBBERY - Pembroke - 24 Sep 2026

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged an individual following an armed robbery in the City of Pembroke.

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to a reported robbery at a business located on Mackay Street near Mary Street in Pembroke.

A significant police presence was observed in the area as officers searched for the suspect. The OPP's Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K9) were deployed to assist with the investigation and search efforts.

The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old from Pembroke has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

- Armed Robbery
- Disguise With Intent

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing.

The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area of Mackay Street and Mary Street to review any available surveillance or CCTV footage and contact the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP if they have information that may assist investigators.

DEEP RIVER UPDATE- 17 Sep 2026

Two People Arrested

Two individuals have been charged in connection with a stabbing in Deep River, including one individual charged with attempted murder.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a serious assault in the area of McElligott Drive. One person was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a 26 year old from Deep River, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

· Attempted murder, section 239(1)(b)

· Failure to comply with probation, section 733.1(1)

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Friday, September 18, 2026.

A 69 year old from Deep River, was arrested and charged with obstruct police officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the CC.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Residents will continue to see an increased police presence in the area as members of the OPP Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Crime Unit and Deep River Police Service continue the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.

As the investigation remains ongoing, investigators continue to ask residents and businesses in the areas of Glendale Avenue, McElligott Drive and the surrounding neighbourhood to review any security, doorbell or dash camera footage captured on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

911 OUTAGE: OPP has received reports of intermittent 911 outages in parts of the province. The public is urged to call the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122, which remains in service, if they are unable to call 9-1-1 and require emergency police services.

OPP continues to respond to calls for service during this outage. The issue is being investigated and further updates will be provided as information becomes available. ^pia
