SCSA Ceremonial Day 2 was just as full as the 1st. I had the honour of serving, along with Josh, as Judge of the Motor Corp Competition. The teams were excellent and the results close. Then Lady Andrée and I were humbled in the Co****le tournament although we can save face by saying we lost to the eventual winners, Anthony and Roy :). After an excellent meal prepared by Jerusalem Shriners, we welcomed almost 50 new Water Buffalos. (See if you can spot Wilma; I mean Andrée.)

Day 1 of the South Central SA Ceremonial is in the books and a full one it was. Barak Shrine put together a full agenda for the session with the first day including some s***t shooting and Hillbilly Degrees. A whole lot of new Ma's and Pa's joined Sugar Cane Still Clan 190. Thankfully, Andrée's shoulder isn't too sore from the shotgun!

To think that 104 years ago, the very first Shriners Hospital opened in Shreveport, Louisiana to help children in need. Lady Andrée and I had the privilege of touring the current facility today and delivering a book from Noble Joe Radmore and Lady Niki. Laura Williams from Philanthropy did a great job telling us about the incredible history and more recent positive changes with the site such as the increase in patients seen, increase in donations, increase in operational savings, rocketship EOS, and also the 100 quilts every 3 months from Miss Eileen. What a great facility and legacy!

Spring is the season for renewal and rejuvenation. So it is in the Craft with installation of officers and in the Shrine with Ceremonials. With the first, we renew the leadership in our lodges and with the second we rejuvenate the Shrine membership with new Nobles. This past month I had the pleasure of participating in a few installations and this past weekend was there to welcome 17 new Nobles to Tunis. The future is looking bright!

Lady Andrée and I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Master’s Reception last Thursday in Ottawa, hosted by the Ottawa Masonic Districts.

It was a wonderful evening of fellowship as we welcomed the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario, M.W. Bro. Jamie Ireland, along with a delegation of Past Grand Masters, Past and Current District Deputy Grand Masters, Grand Lodge Officers, members of the Board of General Purposes, and many brethren with their ladies.

Congratulations to the organizers for a well-planned and memorable evening. It was great to see the Ottawa Masonic community come together in such strong numbers.

Following the morning business meetings of Shrine Directors Association 2026 session and Ladies Luncheon, we had a tour of the beautiful iconic landmark - Shrine Auditorium, home of Al Malaikah Shriners, and past home of many award shows including the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys and ACM. We got to visit Shriners Children's Southern California in Pasadena yesterday. They fill an important healthcare role in the southwest. As usual, we left impressed with the staff and facilities. Thanks to Valentina Martinez, Sr. Director of Philanthropy, for giving us the tour.
