2026 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet, with two separate programming streams:

1. A first-of-its-kind Adaptive Learn-to-Camp Weekend in Gatineau Park (July 10-12).

2. One-on-one lessons or guided rides on our Bowhead Ream Adaptive Mountain Bike (July - Snowfall)

To help keep costs as low as possible for participants, we are seeking sponsorships and partnerships from businesses and individuals. Tiers start at only $50 and go up from there. But every dollar counts, and we are grateful to accept any donations under $50. In-kind contributions are also always welcome.

Check out our website or email us at [email protected] to learn more.

Happy Exploring!

--------

Bonne exploration!

📢🏕️ ADAPTIVE LEARN TO CAMP IS HERE!!🏕️📢

We have been working with to put together an incredible weekend in the woods! Whether this is your first time camping or you could just use some new tips, this is the event for you! Head to our event page at https://www.candosociety.ca/adaptive-learn-to-camp to learn more and fill out an expression of interest form. There are limited spots so don't wait!

What will this weekend entail, you ask? Fire! Trails! Beaches! Cooking! Down Time! S'mores! Mini-chalets!

We have UA and low-barrier mini-chalets booked, but if you'd rather tent camp we can help with that too!

This is a great low-stress way to experience camping - we'll take care of accommodations, transportation from the National Capital Region, equipment, accessibility logistics, and food. You'll just need to bring yourself (and like, your toothbrush. I like you but not enough to share mine 🪥).

Come meet us at the fire July 10-12 (rain dates July 17-19)! Tag your pals in the comments and help us spread the word! 💬

📢 PROGRAM ALERT📢

We are BEYOND excited to let you know that we will be running an Adaptive Learn to Camp weekend this summer in collaboration with ! More details coming soon but in the meantime...

We know we are still months away from summer activities, but reservations for these accessible ready-to-camp units in Gatineau Park open this Saturday, February 28 at 9:00am! The Universally Accessible Unit (D21) can only be booked over the phone or in person at the visitor center. But D11 & D12, which we reviewed for winter camping, have an accessible outhouse and would probably work for many people with disabilities. These two will be open for online reservations, meaning they will go QUICKLY on Saturday and we don't want you to miss out!

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about these units, or adaptive camping in general.

And we are SO excited to see you at the campfire!

Pssssst! We've got some big news about adaptive camping coming soon! ♿🏕️

Camping can be overwhelming for anyone. What do you pack? What if it rains? How do you get a sleeping bag BACK in its bag? How much chocolate is too much chocolate? 🍫

It can be even more challenging for people with disabilities, but as nature lovers, we are here to tell you that it is worth the effort. And we can help.

Have you gone adaptive camping before? We'd love to hear about where you went and what you thought about it! Drop your accessible camping hacks in the comments! 💬
