“Music will always be with you”. That’s the feedback I was given after my last gig. It wasn’t at a venue, bar, or even a wedding – it was at a retirement residence 15 minutes (on foot) from my own home. It’s a place I had walked past many times prior to having the idea to ask them if they needed music, and many more times while working up the courage to do just that…

Thanks for the support and for checking out our new for One Reaching Hand: The Blog!

We will be sharing weekly blogs featuring stories and special moments from the perspective of musicians who share music in care settings. Anonymously written. Carefully protecting the dignity of those we sing with and for. But shining a light on what we believe is a game-changer in healthcare: music that fosters genuine connection and helps people feel human again in situations where their health challenges have caused them to put life as they know it on pause.

Open Mic at Friendly Fork Bar & Grill has been running since Fall 2025! A glimpse of a vacant stage in a cozy side room of the restaurant sparked a bit of inspiration for Amy-Lynn Howson Music - so, with the owners of Friendly Fork on board, these warm and welcoming music nights have taken off!

Open mics are a great starting point for new performers and a reliable comfort zone for more seasoned ones. All are welcome! We hope this evening provides an opportunity for local musicians in our community to connect and gain confidence!

Last year during John Gold (FL)'s virtual album release concert for "Cadillac", he asked fellow musician and Extreme Tour alumni, Amy-Lynn Howson Music about her vision for something called One Reaching Hand...an initiative that helps connect community musicians with care settings and hospitals...to let people in need know that they are NOT alone...tune in to hear more!
