The 'Who Is Hussain?'

An organization seeking to examine the life of Hussain, as a man of values, a man of great love and compassion, and a man that gave eveything he had for the greater good and benifit of those around him

Hussain inspires me to rise against oppression (no matter who is oppressing and who is being oppressed), as he did. Hussain inspires me to be socially active in my community

, as he did. Hussain inspires me to give up my social grandeur in favour of breaking bread with the poor and needy, as he did. Hussain inspires me to be generous, loving, and selfless, as he did. Hussain inspires me to look after my neighbors, visit them if sick, help them if in need, as he did. Last year Hussain inspired us to get together, organize a blood drive, set up a candle light vigil on parliament hill, give out hot chocolate in downtown, donate to our local food banks.. Today is the Day of Ashura. A day when all of Hussain’s noble traits were displayed in a span of a few hours.

Hussain’s example of resistance and defiance in the face of tyranny is a timeless reminder that we must never be silent in the face of injustice.

Working with Nisa Homes & Sakeenah Women's Shelters, we are accepting donations of toys, hygiene products and more at participating locations around Ottawa. See posters for details.
