Summer camps may be wrapping up, but we’re feeling extra grateful! 🎨

A big thank you to Mona Fortier and the Canada Summer Jobs Program for helping us hire seven amazing Studio Technicians this summer. Their support helped us provide our campers with safe, creative, and inspiring art experiences all summer long! ☀️

On August 13, OSA’s Gérard Bélec and Brontë Kohls joined the Honourable Mona Fortier, MP for Ottawa–Vanier–Gloucester, at the Canada Summer Jobs BBQ.

Want to keep art accessible this fall? Consider donating to support our outreach programs and children’s camps at ArtOttawa.ca/Donate 💛

The Ottawa School of Art invites artists working in all paper-based and flat media to submit works for our upcoming juried exhibition!

WHERE ARE YOU HIDING?

This exhibition celebrates the hidden communities around us and their importance in our spaces. Explore the theme of hidden voices, family, growth, and the cultural ties that bind people together. Artists will explore the individuals, histories, and cultural traditions that shape their communities but often remain overlooked or underrepresented. These hidden voices may include community activists, family members, mentors, cultural leaders, and everyday individuals who shape collective identities.

Artists and viewers alike will be invited to reconsider what community means in both symbolic and personal terms. From intimate to monumental, the traditional to the experimental. Have you ever wandered the streets wondering who's truly keeping this city afloat? Who are your pillars in your streets, do you acknowledge them truly and how will you honor your peers?

Are you interested in participating? More information is available at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfeMsjGKtbusxCN6UiZ3ha9UvLgTpmHATn1TlDM466k8UExAA/viewform or by QR code!
