We were honoured to be welcomed so warmly as a recipient at last night’s The Literary Feast, celebrating Ottawa’s 200th birthday. A beautiful event featuring truly inspirational chefs, authors, and creators while supporting St. Joe’s Women’s Centre.

We are deeply touched by the generosity of all those in attendance, and especially by the wonderful Chef Joe Thottungal, whose commitment to supporting and uplifting our community has made an astounding impact over the years.

A sincere thank you to everyone who was part of organizing and hosting this wonderful event, to those who stopped by to learn more about our services, and to everyone in attendance who made this a night to remember!

May 5th marks Red Dress Day, a day for us to come together and raise awareness about the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People in Canada.

On this day we honour and remember the thousands of lives that have been lost. We stand alongside survivors, families, and communities that have been impacted.

They were never just names.
They were daughters, mothers, sisters, aunties, deeply loved and essential to their families and communities. Their lives carried meaning, connection, and futures that should still be here.

Reducing them to numbers strips away the reality of what has been lost.
Saying their names matters. It keeps their presence alive.
But without justice, those names continue to be failed.

Honouring them means demanding more, real answers, real accountability, and real change that reflects the value of their lives.
