Hello everyone, I am super excited to share with you that a parent donated a generous sum that would allow us to make this program completely free for the first semester! There will be 20 spots per class and it will be on a first come first serve basis (our free barrhaven summer program got 30 registrations in 1 day). We hope to create a great community for chess in Orleans! Please join our new community group if you haven't already, we will be reducing our posts on this page soon: https://www.facebook.com/groups/chesscavaliers

Hi everyone, our group is rapidly expanding and we will soon have activities in every part of Ottawa (Orleans, Central, Kanata, Barrhaven). Please join this new group instead as everything will be organized in guides/branches so it will be much easier to keep track of different events and information. Also, now that we have more team members, it will be easier to answer all of your questions as we form one big chess community! We will stop posting on this page now.

Hi everyone,

We are so proud of one of our founders, International Master Johnathan Han, who at 14 years old came first place in the U18 section with a perfect score of 7/7 at the CYCC this year at Laval. He will not only be representing the Ottawa Cavaliers Chess Academy but also Canada at the World Juniors Chess Championship. I also want to congratulate every other participant from Ottawa who all tried their best at the tournament!

A big shoutout to David Gordon for leading an amazing chess camp! It will be the first of many as we look to not only bring back all chess services in Ottawa but also improve them!

Hi everyone,

due to the high demand many people will be on the waiting list for our free Barrhaven Programs. As an alternative we will have paid programs that are higher quality if parents do not wish to wait for the free programs. It will be led by coach Mike who has years of experience teaching at libraries, for chess'n math and privately.

Hi everyone, I am excited to announce our collaboration with the code ninjas academy in Barrhaven. They offer excellent youth programs for kids in coding and other tech related topics. We will be hosting an 11 weeks free program for kids of 6-12 years old where they will be taught the basics of chess by 2 of our expert members: Justin and Michael. It will happen every Monday from 5-6pm. For those who won't be able to attend or didn't get a spot. There will also be more sessions like these throughout the school year. There are only 12 spots and it will be based on a first come first served basis so make sure to register now!
