What a way to wrap up January!

Last week, Volta Research was in Ottawa taking part in CHBA’s Roadmap Bootcamp 2.0. Our team helped lead breakout sessions that worked through homeowner scenarios, testing and refining the Net Zero Renos Roadmap to support clearer, more practical guidance for renovators.

It’s always great to be part of conversations like these with such a thoughtful and engaged group of people. Thanks to CHBA Net Zero and everyone involved for the collaboration and momentum coming out of the sessions.

A major milestone is on the way!

A mobile app is coming soon, bringing the full Volta SNAP experience into the field and making building data capture more convenient, flexible, and accessible on the go.

This next phase will also include LiDAR scanning capabilities on supported devices, designed to support faster and more precise building data capture directly from your phone.

As we get closer to beta release, we’re creating a waitlist for users who want to take part in mobile app testing and help shape what’s next.

🏡 We kicked off the new year with “The Power of Partnership,” a collaborative webinar focused on how alignment across the housing and energy landscape can enable more affordable, future-ready communities. The discussion and panel highlighted how building design, energy modelling practices, anonymized building consumption data, and utility distribution infrastructure planning can work together to advance resilient and grid-friendly housing in Ontario.

We’d like to extend a special thank you to our co-presenters:

• Kevin Rankin (Watercolour Westport, Land Ark Homes)
• Daniel Cogan (Homesol Building Solutions)
• Simon Wu (Rideau St. Lawrence Distribution)
• Tracey Parslow (Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association)
• Sonja Winkelmann (Canadian Home Builders' Association National)
• Derek Satnik (s2e Technologies)
• Alex Kent (The Transition Accelerator)

Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked insightful questions, and helped make the discussion engaging. We're grateful for the support of the Ontario Home Builders' Association and acknowledge the financial contribution from The Atmospheric Fund that helped make this event possible.

Looking forward to continuing these conversations and building momentum together!
