📣Five shelters under one roof, surrounded by a community ready to make a difference.✨

Cornerstone Housing for Women, Interval House of Ottawa, Nelson House, Chrysalis House and Harmony House Shelter, came together at Glow Forward 2026, sharing an evening that celebrated our collective commitment to safety and brighter futures.

More than 190 guests gathered at allsaints last Thursday, helping raise over $67,000 to support the work of our five organizations. 👏🏼👏🏼

Looking back at the 2025 Night Light Walk, we loved seeing our Harmony House Shelter Board members and leadership come together as Team Walk in Harmony, walking in support of women and children rebuilding their lives after violence.

This Thanksgiving, we give thanks for the community that surrounds women and children at Harmony House with compassion and care. 🍂

To our donors, volunteers, partners, staff, and friends: thank you for being part of their journey. Your generosity helps provide more than a safe place to stay. It supports nourishing meals, moments of joy, and the time and care families need to heal and rebuild their lives after violence.

We know that holidays can hold both joy and difficult emotions. Through your support, families have a community beside them—one that cares about their well-being and believes in their future.

Today is the last day of the Giving Shelter campaign—and there’s still time to make a difference.

Leaving violence is only the beginning. Women and children need a safe place to live, time to heal, and people who will walk alongside them as they rebuild their lives.

At Harmony House Shelter, your support helps make that possible: a mother making choices for her future, a child finding comfort in a daily routine, and a family beginning to feel safe again.

We are so excited to come together for GLOW FORWARD — a special evening where fashion meets purpose in support of women in our city.

What makes this event especially meaningful is seeing five sister shelters standing together: Cornerstone Housing for Women Harmony House Shelter, Interval House of Ottawa - Maison Interval d'Ottawa, Nelson House of Ottawa-Carleton and Chrysalis House Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre. Each organization plays an important role in supporting women and families across Ottawa, and together we are part of a network of safety, hope and opportunity.

A very special thank you to Skin Phi, the organizer and driving force behind GLOW FORWARD, for creating an evening that brings together fashion, community and philanthropy in such a beautiful way. 💛 Their vision, energy and support have helped bring this meaningful event to life.

💜 One Less Barrier

As October brings attention to domestic violence awareness and cyber security, our One Less Barrier campaign highlights the importance of safe access to technology.

When an abuser monitors a woman’s phone, tracks her location or controls her access to devices, reaching out for help and planning to leave can become more difficult and dangerous. These barriers can contribute to the many attempts a woman may need to leave safely.

Tech safety strategies can help enhance survivors’ wellbeing, protect their personal privacy and connect them with support—removing one more barrier as women and children rebuild their lives. 💜🩵

We acknowledge the grief carried by families, loved ones and communities, and remember the lives, stories and connections behind every name.
