Inna illallah inna ilayhi raji'un. It's with deep sadness of the passing of Abdirazak Karod. He was a community leader, father, and backbone of the Somali community in Ottawa. When you think of the Somali Centre you think of Abdirazak.

He has been our key supporter and sponsor of Khayrhaye. From our grand opening to our galas to our events he has been there. Time and time again when we enter his office doors for a program or expansion idea of our museum he was on board.

He has supported most of our family through employment, volunteer opportunities, and sponsorships. He was a key member of the upbringing of our family and museum.

You will be missed and may Allah grant you the highest levels of Jannatul Firdaus.

This Wednesday May.27th we will have an Eid Al-Adha celebration at the Ottawa Islamic school from 2pm-7pm.

Registration is free and food and drinks can be purchased on site. There will be bouncy castles, games, and Somali culture to celebrate.

On March 28, Suradway Parents Association of Ottawa brought together families, partners, and community members to celebrate the completion of their 2023–2026 Navigating the System initiative.

The ceremony was a moment to reflect on what they achieved. As one of their partners they highlighted our contributions promoting the Somali culture over the years to the Ottawa community.
