Here is second update on the balance of the OWWT trails. The trail from Middle Intersection north to Shirley's Bay is open and only has minor damage. The north, east and south segments of NCC trail 10 are fine. The approach ramp to the bridge by the Ottawa River, that was washed away during the spring, has even been repaired. But the south segment, parallel to Carling Avenue, is closed because one small bridge has washed away. But it's easy to walk around it. BTW, when using the Watts Creek trail, especially west of MI, beware of all the wild parsnip right on the side of the trail. It looks beautiful but don't touch!

Here is a July grooming update. It's going to take a bit more snow than normal to fill some of these potholes following the deluge on July 1. Watts Creek from Andrew Hayden Park to Middle Intersection is fine. Watts Creek west of MI (middle intersection - Watts & TCT) is closed (though lots of people are using it). The first photo is a washout on Watts Creek between Burke Rd and March Rd. The Trans Canada Trail from MI south to Corkstown and further south to Timm Rd is closed and has huge damage. South from Timm to Robertson Rd is open and has minor damage. In many places, there is a lot of loose gravel which is ok to ride with a mountain bike but not with a road bike. I haven't yet checked north of MI to the Ottawa River but at least the trail is not closed. Report from Groomer Chris (waiting for snow).

We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had a long season with our last groom being on Mar 22nd.
A huge shout-out to one of our key sponsors, the Crystal Beach Lakeview Community Association. Thank-you for coming on board again this 2025-26 season with some funding that will help us continue to bring you the OWWT next season and beyond.

As KSWT says..
Please fill in the survey.
Thanks!
(PS if you’d like a new organization to extend the trail in Bells Corners, please tell the NCC as we’re all tapped out with our current territory)

K-Trail, and every other multi-use urban winter pathways across the city are NOT the National Capital Commission but we are important and essential partners. We could not operate our respective trails without their blessing, partnership, support, financial contribution and encouragement.

Tell them what you think about urban winter pathways here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17tPgyoZgi

Survey closes this week.
