Our sincere thanks to Orange thREADs, a local stitchery group, for their generous donation of beautiful knitted and crocheted hats, blankets and scarves to our Chapter. 🧶💐

These handmade items will be shared with local seniors and shelters, bringing warmth and comfort to our community.

We’re so grateful to collaborate with this wonderful social group of people who enjoy knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and reading.

Our Story

We are a proud Canadian women's charitable organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for those in need in Dufferin County.

In 1900, Margaret Polson of Montreal encouraged the formation of a federation of women to promote patriotism, loyalty, and service to others. The first chapter, Federation of the Daughters of the Empire, was formed in New Brunswick on January 15th, 1900. Primary Chapters were formed in quick succession across Canada, as were children's chapters. In 1901, the Federation was incorporated as the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire and Children of the Empire Junior Branch.

Yellow Briar, IODE chapter was founded by a group of like-minded women who choose and support a wide range of projects to offer to help people in the Orangeville area. If you have just a few hours to spare each month, and you feel you can make a difference, please come and join us and form lifelong friendships.
