Meet Olivia who absolutely loves ❤️ Mac aka “Mac & Cheese”🧀. (We think Mac should be called Big Mac 🍔because he is a tall boy). Olivia and Mac are suited perfectly for each other. Both tall, strong and full of energy and a sense of humour. Olivia and Mac would love to “go faster” than a trot but us volunteers wouldn’t be able to keep up with them both.
Mac aims to please and is always up for whatever you ask and so is Olivia. Mac would certainly jump into your lap for a snuggle and I know Olivia would be up for that as she loves giving Mac hugs before and after her ride and he soaks all this attention up. ❤️🐴

Last night our dedicated volunteers gathered for a hearty meal in celebration of a successful spring session. Unfortunately it wasn’t until the end of the evening as people were leaving that we even thought about capturing some moments together. We were so engaged in conversations with one another. So we quickly rounded up those that still remained and posed for a few pictures. Thank you to everyone for sharing your time with us this season and always showing up to help ensure everyone is smiling at the end of their session. See you in the fall. Enjoy your summer. Play safe!

Meet Hanako and her valiant horse, Nick, who just turned 20 years old last week. Her enthusiasm does not waiver throughout the whole class. Nick who is a character as well is a perfect match for her. They so care for each other. She surprised him with a card at our last session today as a symbol of her feelings for him. His owner Susan will be hanging his card up in the barn. There were many smiles and funny faces today. Today was a GOOD day!

Nick is a 20 year old registered quarter horse. His birthday is tomorrow-May 19, 2006 (that's a FTRA day) so be sure to give him extra loving on his birthday! 🎂 His registered name is Genuine Pepinic, hence Nick. His owner purchased him from a friend 10 years ago.

Nick is a bay, with brown body and black legs, mane and tail, and is 15hh.
He also has a dorsal stripe, which is a black stripe down his back.

His owner, Susan L., tells us that he is missing a front tooth, lost somehow when he was young, but that it doesn't affect his eating, and he loves the green grass in his pasture. He also knows their tractor and runs to it, especially when it brings his food. He loves licorice nibs, and he gets his medicine in one each day.

He loves the attention at Therapeutic riding and loves all the children.
He's also great at rounding up cattle and trail riding in the mountains.

We we so EXCITED to see so many NEW faces at our NEW Volunteer Orientation sessions this morning!! Equally excited to see familiar faces at our Returning Volunteer session. With MANY hands make light work! TEAM=Together Everyone Achieves More!
We can go on and on. 😄
This program can only go “on and on” with volunteers so YOU mean the world 🌎 to us!
Next Tuesday is Session 1 of 6. If you missed our orientation and are sad you did and you’d like to lend a hand, please come by next Tuesday and introduce yourself. We can get you caught up. There is always something to do. Someone to swap out when we get tuckered walking/running next to a horse. And there is always p**p to pick up.😜

Check out our session times and come a few minutes early to get settled.

Can’t wait to see y’all next week!!

Check out the crowd we had this morning. It’s awesome!!❤️
