⛰️🪓Our time has finally come.. The proposal has officially been submitted to Parks Canada in Riding Mountain National Park!📜🕊

- Manitoba Métis Federation
- Trails Manitoba
- RM of Lakeshore
- Fort Dauphin Museum

We are very excited to hear a response so we can begin to move forward with the next steps!⛰️🪓

⛰️🪓We are so proud to announce that we've have now received a Letter of Support from the Manitoba Métis Federation!!! This has been a long awaited milestone, and we can now move forward with incorporating as a non-profit which allows us to apply for liability insurance, and even registration as a Metis Non-profit organization with Northwest Métis Council Inc. - Manitoba Métis Federation (there are only 52 currently registered) for cultural education programs.

⛰️🪓Another proud accomplishment;

Upon attending a council meeting with the RM of Lakeshore to present our initiative, members were more than happy to give a letter of endorsement for the project, and will be attached to our proposal for Parks Canada. This is another big step forward with community support, and we are very grateful for the acknowledgement and encouragement to restore this significant route; preserving heritage, boosting tourism, and enhancing community wellness.

⛰️🪓We are so proud to announce that we've received our first written endorsement, and it's a big one from Trails Manitoba!

⛰️🪓With support from Trails Manitoba, we can now apply for sustainable funding, annually to support the Ochre River Trail initiative upon approval of our formal proposal.

⛰️🪓Over $1.2 million total was granted in 2024 to Trail Initiative and Maintenance projects. Some of the top recipients received up to $75,000 for their project! We are very grateful for this opportunity.

⛰️🪓They've even chose to consider us as part of Manitoba's broader strategic trail vision! That's HUGE! **Bonus**
