Leadership Transition Announcement: The Muslim Advisory Council of Canada would like to share an important leadership update with our community.
After years of dedicated service, our Founder & Executive Director, Tabassum Wyne, has made the decision to step down from her role and transition to our Board of Directors. Under her visionary leadership, MACC has grown from a grassroots initiative into a national organization, championing policy change, building cross-sectoral partnerships, and uplifting the voices of Canadian Muslims from coast to coast.
Under Tabassum’s leadership, MACC rose to national prominence-driving in over $1 million in funding and sweeping major accolades, including the Milton Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award and the Children’s Healthcare Canada Organizational Leadership Award. Her leadership didn’t just move the needle—it impacted and redefined Muslim advocacy in Canada.
Tabassum launched and led some of MACC’s most impactful initiatives, including our Islamophobia in Healthcare portfolio, the Education Support for Muslim Families initiative, and our groundbreaking research on barriers to gender-based violence services. She turned vision into impact and positioned the organization as a trailblazer in equity, advocacy, and community power.
While we will miss her in the Executive Director role, we are deeply grateful that she will continue to guide our organization as a member of the Board of Directors. Her continued involvement will ensure a smooth transition and uphold the values and vision that have shaped the Muslim Advisory Council of Canada’s journey.
Please join us in thanking Tabassum for her tireless service-and in celebrating this new chapter.
With gratitude,
The Muslim Advisory Council of Canada
