Tragic news from the Liions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. On behalf of the Canada True Vision Cyber Club Branch we send our condolences and prayers to Jemma handler and family and hope the handler recovers soon. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Guide Dog Jemma. Thank you for your service. RIP Jemma.

We are deeply saddened to share that yesterday afternoon we were notified of an incident involving a Dog Guide team who were struck by a vehicle. Tragically, the Dog Guide, Jemma, passed away. Her partner is currently in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Jemma, a Canine Vision Dog Guide, was a gentle black Lab who made an incredible impact in her lifetime. Jemma’s dedication to her job and devotion will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with her handler and their family during this incredibly difficult time. We invite our Dog Guide community to take a moment to remember Jemma and honour her extraordinary life.

Out of respect for the client, Jemma, and all those affected, we kindly ask that comments remain supportive and that no personal information is shared.

Photo Description: Black Labrador Jemma, wearing a Dog Guides harness sits outdoors, facing forward. Photo is in black and white with a blurred background of trees and a stone wall behind them.
