Congratulations to Lynn Perrin on receiving the New Dundee Optimist Adult Hero Award. This recognition celebrates an individual who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the well-being of the community and the development of its youth.

Lynn is a pillar of the New Dundee community, a familiar face within Wilmot, and recognized for her tireless volunteerism and leadership.

A huge thanks to everyone who joined us for our Free Community Skating Event! It was wonderful to see so many families out on the ice.

On Wednesday February 25 the Optimist Club of New Dundee were very pleased to once again hold their annual Youth Appreciation Awards Banquet at the Community Centre.

The following are the groups who nominated youth for the Optimist Youth Appreciation Award, the recipients of the award and the representative from each group who read the nomination letter(s).

- Bethel Church: Maya Arauja; presented by Natalie Otterbein
- New Dundee Board of Trade: Julia Johnston; presented by Jim Stirling
- New Dundee Beautification Committee: Dylan Debacker and Stan Tilt; presented by Optimist Don Poth
- New Dundee Public School: Tyler Brissenden and Ilah Tilt; presented by Scott McKenzie
- Sir Adam Beck Public School: Connor Tsetsekas and Blake Lipsit; presented by Hayley Burgess

All of the youth being honoured were presented with a commemorative plaque and a framed copy of the nomination letter by the presenter, assisted by Youth Appreciation chair Optimist Danielle
Baker.

The 2025 scholarship recipient Isobel Weber was recognized as well. Each year the Optimist Club of New Dundee awards a $1500 scholarship to a local youth for post secondary education. The Application form and rules are available on the New Dundee Optimist web site.

🍝The Optimist Club of New Dundee is hosting our annual Community Spaghetti Dinner, and you’re invited to join the feast! 🍝 It’s all-you-can-eat spaghetti, meatballs, salad, buns, beverages, and desserts.

The Optimist Christmas Light Tour has returned to bring families joy and a little extra holiday fun! 🎄✨

You’re welcome to open the tour on your device (phone, iPad, or laptop) and type your answers directly, or you can print a copy and fill it in by hand. Paper copies are also available at the library during open hours. You can find PDF and Word copies on our website at https://sites.google.com/view/newdundeeoptimists/events/holiday-lights-tour

The tour takes approximately one hour to complete. Hopefully, when you visit, the Christmas lights will be on and the inflatables will be up — but you may need to circle back to some homes on another day.

Completed submissions are due by January 3, 2026. There may be prizes 😉!!!

You can drop off completed entries at the library or email them to [email protected].
