Everest made it to the top of Everest. šŸ¤šŸ”ļø

Last year, there was an attempt to carry our boy to the summit, but the mountain had other plans. Dangerous weather conditions forced the team to turn back before reaching the top.

And this year… Everest made it! šŸ’™šŸ”ļø

In one of the most emotional and meaningful moments, Everest’s photo was carried to the summit of Mount Everest, the highest place on Earth. Seeing him above the clouds, surrounded by snow, prayer flags, and endless sky 🄹 His spirit touched by the top of the world.

A special thank you to the families longtime friend, Subin, owner of , for believing in this mission and carrying Everest with such love, determination, and honor.

Everest’s spirit continues to move mountains, connect hearts, and spread love across the world. Through every person who carries his story, Everest’s light continues to travel farther than we ever imagined possible šŸ¤āœØ

Today our hearts are with the family, friends, classmates, and entire Robson and Castlegar community as they face the devastating loss of sweet 12-year-old Vincent Berukoff.

There are simply no words for a loss this profound. Our community and our board know far too well the heartbreak of losing a child so suddenly, and the unimaginable road that lies ahead for those left to carry this grief.

A GoFundMe has been created to help support Vincent’s family. If you are able, please consider donating, sharing, or simply holding this family close in your hearts and prayers.

May Vincent’s family somehow feel the love of an entire community holding them close through this unimaginable heartbreak. There are no words that can soften a loss like this, only the hope that they never feel alone in the days ahead.

We have no doubt that our little Everest welcomed Vincent with open arms, playful Kootenay boy energy and endless love šŸ¤

With love,

It means so much when local businesses step up to support their community in such meaningful ways. Because of generosity like this, we are able to continue creating opportunities for children to access sports, counselling, and support for those navigating grief within our community.

A very special thank you to Tanya & Brent for your kindness, compassion, and commitment to making a difference šŸ’Ŗ

We truly appreciate you and everyone who contributed. Thank you for standing with us. šŸ¤

Many people don’t know that Mother’s Day was born from grief.

In 1908, Anna Jarvis created Mother’s Day after losing her own mother. What began as a daughter honoring and mourning her mom became a day dedicated to recognizing the love, sacrifice, strength, and presence of mothers everywhere. šŸ’œ

Yesterday and this morning, we handed out nine custom-made boxes to nine local mothers who have lost children. Each one was created with love and care, simply to remind these mothers that they are not alone. We are so grateful for the loving support of Courtney, owner of .nelson for partnering with us to create these ā€œBoxes of Loveā€ 🌺

Today we honor all mothers šŸ¤ The ones holding their children close, the ones raising them through every stage of life, and the ones carrying their children in their hearts instead of their arms.

A mother’s love never leaves.

To the mothers grieving, loving, surviving, nurturing, and showing up through it all — we see you.

Happy / Sad Mother’s Day to our beautiful community. šŸ’™

ā›³ļø Registration is officially OPEN for the Second Annual EC 18 Golf Tournament! šŸ’™

Last year, because of this incredible community, we raised an amazing amount of money in support of the Everest Legacy Fund and throughout the year those funds helped provide local families with access to sports opportunities, mental health counseling, and meaningful community initiatives that continue to make a real difference.

This tournament is so much more than a day on the course. It’s a chance to come together, celebrate community, honor the memory of an extraordinary little boy, and continue creating impact in Everest’s name!!

And honestly… it’s also just SUCH a fun day. šŸŒļøā€ā™‚ļøā˜€ļø Good people, lots of laughs, unforgettable memories, and a whole lot of heart.

So grab your friends, enjoy some corporate tax deductions šŸ˜‰ and come be part of something truly special.

We can’t wait to see everyone back out on the course for another unforgettable year of the EC 18. šŸ’™

Today is Bereaved Mother’s Day.

A day we hold close to our hearts šŸ’™

Today, we honor the President and Founder of the Everest Legacy Fund. A mother who turned unimaginable loss into love in motion. Who continues to carry Everest’s name forward with purpose, strength, and a heart that refuses to stop loving.

And we honor every mother walking this path.

The ones who wake up and choose to keep going, even when the weight feels impossible. The ones who carry their children with them in every breath, every step, every quiet moment. The ones who love just as deeply, even in absence.

We see you.
We hear you.
We walk beside you.

Today, we say their names.
We speak them out loud.
We keep them alive in the only way we can, through love, remembrance, and each other.

Always loved. Always missed. Always part of us šŸ¤

There are just 2 more days to nominate a local bereaved mom to be lovingly spoiled this Mother’s Day šŸ¤

For many, Mother’s Day is filled with celebration but for moms carrying loss, it can also be one of the heaviest days of the year. We want to gently hold space for that grief while surrounding one special mama with extra care, comfort, and love.

If you know a mother in our Nelson community who is navigating the unimaginable, we invite you to nominate her. Let’s remind her that she is seen, held, and never alone — especially on a day that can feel so tender.

✨ A moment to be cared for
✨ A reminder that her love still matters
✨ A small offering of light from her community

Please send us your nominations before the deadline. Let’s come together to wrap a deserving mom in the love she so deeply deserves.

Be sure to come out and celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Finley’s Bar & Grill with us on May 2 šŸ’™

In an incredibly generous show of community spirit, they’ve offered to donate all proceeds from the celebration to the Everest Legacy Fund. This kind of kindness reminds us just how fortunate we are to live in a place where local business owners truly care and show up for one another in meaningful ways.

We would love to see you there!! Come raise a glass, share in the connection, and help us continue honoring Everest’s legacy together šŸ•Šļø
