As kids across the Kootenays are getting ready to hit the ice, the Everest Legacy Fund wants families to remember: we’re here to support you. ❤️

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, be part of a team, and experience everything that comes with the game.

If you have a child in Castlegar or Nelson who needs a little extra support this hockey season, the Everest Legacy Fund may be able to help with:

❤️ Other barriers that may make it difficult to participate

We are incredibly proud of Everest’s mom, Nicole, who has been selected to speak at the Canadian Children’s Grief Symposium about the book she wrote with Everest’s brother, Archer, and his experience with sibling loss.

The loss of Everest has created a ripple effect that has been felt so far and wide. The death of a child can make us understand just how precious life is. It can give life new meaning and inspire us to love more deeply, connect more intentionally, and live differently than we did before.

At the heart of Archer and Nicole’s message is the idea that our connection with the people we love does not end when they die. We can continue to connect with them in spirit, to feel them in our lives, and to carry that connection with us every day.

Their love is not gone. It is right here with us.

If this message speaks to you, we would love for you to join the online, cross-Canada conference this November — National Sibling Loss Awareness Month, and also the birth month of both Everest and Archer.

After a little post-tournament break to rest, recharge and take in what was an incredible 2nd annual Everest Legacy Golf Tournament, our board is back with some pretty exciting news to share.

Together, we raised a net total of $32,372.96! 💙

We honestly couldn’t be more grateful.

This tournament came together because so many people said yes — to sponsoring, donating, volunteering, golfing, sharing, helping and answering those last-minute calls. 😅

What an incredible day yesterday was! ⛳️💙

We saw some amazing golf, some absolutely hilarious golf, and plenty of memorable moments in between. There were so many smiles, so much laughter, and such a wonderful sense of community.

Most of all, we could feel Everest so close, in the fun, the friendships, and the joy shared throughout the day.

Here are a few sneak peeks, with many more photos and special moments to come! Our board just needs a few days to rest and recover 😊 We’re also excited to share shortly here how much we raised, everyone has been incredibly generous!
