Join us on May 5 as we gather in remembrance, solidarity, and action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). This day is a time to honour the lives lost, support families and communities, and raise awareness of the ongoing crisis.

We will begin with a march from Cottonwood Park to City Hall. Participants are encouraged to bring their drums as we walk together in unity and remembrance.

Following the march, we will gather at the Nelson Museum Archives & Gallery for light snacks and refreshments. This will be a space to connect, reflect, and support one another.

Afterward, attendees are invited to visit the REDress exhibit inside the museum. This powerful installation, created by Métis artist Jaime Black, serves as a visual reminder of the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, calling attention to their absence and the need for justice.

All are welcome to attend. Please come with respect and an open heart.

Join us at Lakeside Park in Nelson BC (unceded Sinixt, Syilx, and Ktunaxa Nations' territories) to acknowledge and honour the children and families, and cultures, that suffered through the Canadian Residential and Day Schools systems and are still facing these repercussions today.

This is not a performative event (though there will be dancers, music, and artists sharing their work) but an opportunity to think and talk critically about the 94 Calls To Action, and taking active steps towards reconciliation. Food and light refreshments will be provided to all attendees engaging in the conversation.

Ready to connect with culture, build new friendships, and nourish your mental wellness?

Join us at the Vancouver Island Métis Rendezvous from Friday, August 15 – Sunday, August 17, 2025! This event is free to attend as travel costs, meals per diems, and camping gear (tents, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags) will be covered!

This is a wonderful opportunity to gather, learn, and grow in community. Sign up quickly, as spaces are limited to three Citizens or self-identifying Métis Youth from each region!

MNBC's Mental Health and Harm Reduction team will be present at this event to answer any questions, though they will not be official chaperones.
