This is a huge thank you to and for another generous donation of $520 from their fundraiser in March over International Women's Day weekend.

The money will go towards our daily drop ins, a great space for the community to come and connect with others and find out about local resources.

For those of you who don't know, the Moonflower Collective is a local organization which connects and supports local artists.

If you’ve visited the Women’s Centre, chances are you crossed paths with Anna. During her three and a half years with WKWA, she took on several roles, including Drop-In Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator, and Programs Manager.

Anna has a remarkable gift for connecting with people and making them feel seen, heard, and valued. Through her leadership, care, and dedication, she helped shape the Women’s Centre into an even more inclusive space that reflects the mission and vision of WKWA.

Today, we celebrate Anna with gratitude and joy as she concludes her time with WKWA and begins an exciting new chapter. Anna, you will be deeply missed—not only for your strength, leadership, and commitment, but also for the laughter, kindness, and lighthearted moments you brought to the women's centre every day.

Thank you for all you have contributed. We wish you every success and happiness on your next journey.

Good luck, Anna— 💜🏳️‍🌈🦄

Today is Red Dress Day. A day to remember, honour, and take action for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit people.

"It began with the REDress Project, created by Métis artist Jaime Black in 2010. On this day, red dresses will be draped in trees, hanging from windows, pinned to jackets, worn as earrings and red hands painted across faces, people will be partaking in rally’s and ceremonies to honour their loved ones, participating as ally’s and fighting for justice."

We just wanted to shout out to our wonderful team of volunteers on

The Women's Centre relies on hundreds of hours of volunteer time every year; from sorting recycling to deep cleans, thrift store management to peer support, Board responsibilities to Committee work - these volunteers do the un-glamorous, behind-the-scenes work that truly supports the programming, service users and staff, every day.

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS, YOU'RE AMAZING. 💜🙌
