Our Grow Arrow Lakes Alliance aims to bring people together through our mutual love of agriculture.

Big news for the Arrow Lakes region! 🌱

We are excited to announce that we were successful in obtaining funding support from the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) to help strengthen our local agriculture and food sector. Through this funding, we are pleased to welcome Hailey Bekker as the new Agriculture & Food Coordinator for the Arrow Lakes region.

This role will help build collaboration between organizations, businesses, farmers, and food producers while supporting the growth of a strong, connected local food alliance. The initiative will also encourage community food resilience, support local agri-food businesses, and help create long-term economic resilience throughout the region.

Over the coming year, this program will focus on:
• Building the Grow Arrow Lakes Alliance
• Facilitating events that celebrate and support local food culture
• Supporting local agriculture and food businesses as they grow
• Encouraging community food resilience initiatives
• Identifying funding opportunities for long-term agricultural development

Hailey brings a wealth of experience in organic farming, business development, and community support work, along with a passion for healthy, locally grown food and strengthening community connections. We are thrilled to have her in this role and look forward to seeing local food initiatives continue to flourish.

A sincere thank you to ETSI-BC for their support in making this project possible, and to the Village of Nakusp and the RDCK for their partnership and commitment to strengthening agriculture and food sustainability in our region.
