📣BREAKING - TRAVEL BAN IN THE WOODS:📣 Because of the unusually hot and dry conditions, the Province has placed restrictions on travel and activity in the woods across Nova Scotia, effective immediately. These restrictions are in addition to the province-wide burn ban enacted on July 30.
Nova Scotians are being asked to stay out of the woods. Hiking, camping, fishing and the use of vehicles, including bicycles, in the woods are not permitted. The restrictions also include rail trail. People can still access beaches and parks, however trail systems are off limits and camping is only allowed in official campgrounds. The fine for violating these restrictions is $25,000.
