Now that the summer camp whirlwind has settled, Kids Club has a very special thank you to share!
โ๏ธ Bringing Our Community to Kids Club โ๏ธ
The Holstein Kids & Us Summer Program would like to send the biggest THANK YOU to everyone who generously volunteered their time this summer to come to Kids Club, share their knowledge, and give our children an inside look at what they do in our community.
With the rising cost of bus transportation, we unfortunately werenโt able to go on as many field trips as we normally would. Instead, we decided to bring the field trips to us! And what a summer it turned out to be! ๐
Throughout the summer, our children had the opportunity to meet some amazing people, explore new careers, learn about safety, and get hands-on experiences they will remember for years to come.
๐ Officer John Aiken
Officer Aiken visited Kids Club and gave each age group the opportunity to learn about police work. The children got to explore the police car, see its features up close, ask questions, and learn more about the important work police officers do in our community.
๐ Dundalk Fire Department
We were so excited to welcome RJ Amyotte from the Dundalk Fire Department! They showed the children the tools firefighters use, explained how they help people in emergencies, showed off the lights on the fire truck, and even let the children climb inside and explore the truck. It was a very exciting visit!
๐ John's Towing
Pryce and Steve Leask from John's Towing brought a tow truck to Kids Club and showed us exactly what a tow truck does. The children learned how tow trucks are used to safely move vehicles and loved getting a close-up look at the equipment.
๐ Mike Needham Trucking
Mike from Mike Needham Trucking brought a BIG truck for the kids to see up close! The children got to explore the trailer and climb through all of the different levels. It was definitely an experience they won't forget!
๐ถ Mildmay Veterinary Clinic
Taylor Paterson from Mildmay Veterinary Clinic brought her adorable puppy for a very special visit. Taylor taught the children about being a veterinarian, showed them X-rays and some of the tools vets use, and explained how they help animals stay happy and healthy. The puppy was definitely a favourite! ๐พ
๐ฎ Officer Kody Lyons
We also had a fantastic visit from Officer Kody Lyons! He showed the children the different tools he carries on his duty belt, let them see just how heavy a police vest is, and talked about staying safe in our community. The children even got to take fingerprints and explore the police car!
๐ Linda Sachs
Linda Sachs came to Kids Club and shared one of her very own books with us! She read to the children and talked about what it is like to be an author. It was a wonderful opportunity for the kids to see how stories can come to life and learn about the person behind the book.
๐ A Visit to Cathy Whyteโs Farm
We also had the opportunity to take a little walk to Cathy Whyteโs farm, where the children got to meet some very special animals! We saw adorable puppies, alpacas, goats, and so much more. It was such a fun way to spend the day exploring and connecting with our community.
๐ THANK YOU, COMMUNITY! ๐
What started as a summer where we thought we might miss out on some of our usual field trips turned into something even more special.
We brought our community to Kids Club โ and our community showed up for us!
Every visitor gave our children something new to learn, something exciting to experience, and a memory to take home with them. From police cars and fire trucks to tow trucks, big rigs, animals, books, and everything in between, our summer was filled with learning, laughter, and adventure.
To every person who opened their doors, brought their equipment, answered endless questions, shared their knowledge, brought an animal, climbed into a truck, or simply took time out of their day to spend with our children:
THANK YOU! โค๏ธ
We are so lucky to be part of such a wonderful and supportive community.
Thank you for helping make Summer 2026 at Kids Club one we will never forget! โ๏ธ๐
With love and appreciation,๏ฟฝKids Club
