Today, we honour two profound legacies.
On November 11, 1918, after 123 years of partitions, Poland regained its independence: a testament to the unwavering spirit and sacrifice of generations who never stopped believing in freedom.
On this same day in Canada, we observe Remembrance Day, paying tribute to all who served and sacrificed for peace and liberty.
As Polish Canadians, we carry a deep understanding of the cost of freedom. We remember the courage of those who fought for Poland's independence and honour all veterans — Polish, Canadian, and allied soldiers — who defended the values we hold dear: freedom, democracy, and dignity. Their service reflects the enduring bond between our nations and the shared commitment to the ideals that unite us today.
Lest we forget. Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła!

11 listopada 1918 roku, po 123 latach rozbiorów, Polska odzyskała niepodległość — świadectwo niezłomnego ducha i poświęcenia pokoleń, które nigdy nie przestały wierzyć w wolność.
Tego samego dnia w Kanadzie obchodzimy Remembrance Day, oddając hołd wszystkim, którzy służyli i poświęcili się dla pokoju i wolności.
Jako Polacy w Kanadzie, głęboko rozumiemy cenę wolności. Pamiętamy o odwadze tych, którzy walczyli o niepodległość Polski i honorujemy wszystkich weteranów — polskich, kanadyjskich i alianckich żołnierzy — którzy bronili wartości, które są nam drogie: wolności, demokracji i godności. Ich służba odzwierciedla trwałą więź między naszymi narodami i wspólne zaangażowanie w ideały, które nas łączą.
Chwała bohaterom. Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła!

Le 11 novembre 1918, après 123 ans de partitions, la Pologne a retrouvé son indépendance — témoignage de l'esprit inébranlable et du sacrifice de générations qui n'ont jamais cessé de croire en la liberté.
Ce même jour au Canada, nous observons le jour du Souvenir, rendant hommage à tous ceux qui ont servi et se sont sacrifiés pour la paix et la liberté.
En tant que Polonais au Canada, nous comprenons profondément le prix de la liberté. Nous nous souvenons du courage de ceux qui ont lutté pour l'indépendance de la Pologne et nous honorons tous les vétérans — soldats polonais, canadiens et alliés — qui ont défendu les valeurs qui nous sont chères : la liberté, la démocratie et la dignité. Leur service reflète le lien durable entre nos nations et l'engagement commun envers les idéaux qui nous unissent.
Gloire aux héros. La Pologne n'a pas encore péri!
