🖤 This Black History Month, we’re showing up as a proudly disabled and Black-led collective to protect our new home,

What's L’Astérisk?
It is a vital community space that has long supported organizations, the Roommates, such as Jeunesse Lambda, Juritrans, AlterHéros, Femtl, and now the Rainbow Spice Collective.

This is our workplace, our base, our home 🏠🌈

Without it, we lose the space where we run activities, events, drop-ins, and, most importantly, provide support to marginalized youth.

⚠️ Today, this space is at risk.
Major funding losses are threatening its survival.
Without immediate support, L’Astérisk could close permanently.

🖤 En ce Mois de l’histoire des Noir·e·s, nous nous mobilisons comme un collectif fièrement dirigé par des personnes Noires et handicapées pour protéger notre nouveau chez-nous, L’Astérisk.

C'est quoi L’Astérisk?
C'est un espace communautaire essentiel qui accueille et soutient depuis des années des organismes, les Colocs, comme Jeunesse Lambda, Juritrans, AlterHéros, Femtl, et maintenant le Collectif Mille Couleurs.

C’est notre lieu de travail, notre base, notre maison 🏠🌈

Sans cet espace, nous perdons la capacité d’offrir des activités, des événements, des accueils libres et du soutien aux jeunes.

⚠️ Aujourd’hui, ce lieu est en danger.
De graves pertes de financement menacent directement sa survie.
Sans soutien immédiat, L’Astérisk risque de fermer définitivement.

📸 Here are a few glimpses from our Intersectional Art & Poetry Night this past August. We’re sharing later than planned for health reasons, but this night meant too much not to share.

🌈 Huge thanks to and for the collaboration, support, and accessible space that made this evening possible!

💯 It was an honor to be part of the very 1st edition of Wild Pride, a radical, community-led movement we truly believe in.
Their work creates space for small grassroots collectives like ours to build something meaningful together 🌱

💞 The turnout genuinely surprised us. Seeing the community come together like that was a powerful reminder of why nights like these matter.

💪 Shoutout to Luna, Solhi, Tsedal, Eve, and everyone who supported behind-the-scenes in bringing this night to life. And to Luna for their rap performance and poetry 💜

Petit aperçu de notre passage au FSMI (Forum Social Mondial des Intersections) le 30 mai 2025! 🌎😍
Throwback to our activity at the WSIF (World Social Forum of Intersections) 05/30/25) ✨.

On publie t**d à cause de soucis de santé, mais ce moment comptait beaucoup pour nous. On voulait le partager avant la fin de l’année et remercier comme il faut l’équipe du FSMI pour leur accueil! 🫶🏾

🎤 Notre activité:

On a animé un espace créatif et communautaire autour de l’antitokenisme et de l’accessibilité intersectionnelle, avec poésie, rap, art et échange collectif.

C’était un moment simple et chaleureux, qui a permis aux personnes de la communauté et aux allié·es de connecter, partager et apprendre ensemble 🎨💞

We had the great pleasure of attending Dr. Kimberlé W. Crenshaw’stalk at the WSIF, the scholar who pioneered the framework of intersectionality

One of the highlights of the week was that our member Luna had the chance to speak with her earlier, before the conference. It was a short but meaningful exchange that stayed with us.

We truly hope to cross paths with her again! We would love to introduce her to our framework of Radical Intersectional Accessibility (RIA), which we see as a living extension of her work! 

As a collective that lives all these intersections at once, made up of visibly POC, trans and non-binary, disabled, neurodivergent, and chronically ill folk, we embody the very realities her work helped the world name.

A conversation with her would feel like bringing theory back to the bodies and realities it was created for ✨🌱
