The St. Patrick’s Society of Montreal was pleased to see this excellent interview with Scott Phelan, Past President, on the Montreal Irish Monument - Monument irlandais de Montréal.

As a proud partner, we are honoured to support this important initiative—one that ensures the memory of the Irish Famine victims is preserved and shared for generations to come.

An inspiring project and a meaningful legacy for our community.

A part of our history. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Joyeuse Saint-Patrick ! ☘️

We are sad to learn of the recent passing of Mrs. Muriel Doyle in her 100th year, mother of UIS Past President Danny Doyle.

Muriel Ann Agnes Rhind was born in late 1926 in Montreal to Charles Aloysius Rhind and Ethel Craft and was baptized at St. Dominic’s Church.

In the mid 1940s Muriel Rhind and Daniel Anthony Doyle were married and together in Griffintown they raised their family of 12 children - Sharon, Colleen, Donna, Darlene, Ann, Danny, Billy, Downey, Cathy, Jack, Donald, and Kelly. There are too many grandchildren to list (29 grandchildren an 21 great grandchildren to be exact) however several have filled key roles in the UIS in recent years, including Chief Deputy Marshal Danny Doyle, Banquet Committee Chairperson Shawn Doyle, and Vice President – Organization Devin St. James. Her son Jack also serves as Assistant Parade Director.

On behalf of the United Irish Societies of Montreal, we offer our most sincere condolences to the Doyle family on the loss of their mother and grandmother after a long life well lived surrounded by love.
