AIDS Community Care Montreal (ACCM) is looking for a PnP/Chemsex Support Coordinator to join our team! ACCM is Quebec’s only English-speaking community organization that offers prevention and support services to people living with or affected by HIV and/or hepatitis C. We work in collaboration alongside our many communities to build a compassionate and caring response to HIV and hepatitis C and carry out education work that equips people with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions around their sexual health.

The goal of this position is to provide support to people who partake in chemsex/PnP, i.e. people who use drugs, such as crystal m**h and GHB, in order to enhance and prolong their sexual experiences. This position is part of our KONTAK program which provides an array of services around chemsex, overdose prevention, and PnP from the framework of harm reduction. We offer support through outreach, harm reduction material deliveries, workshops, support groups, one-on-one peer support and counselling for those using drugs for chemsex (PnP). Our ultimate goal is to equip the PnP and broader q***r community with knowledge, competencies, support, and materials to proactively manage their drug use, reduce the risk of STBBI transmission, and prevent overdoses.

Community, [Sexual] Well-being, & Self-Compassion: What are they, and why should they matter to you?
Workshop for all members
📅 July 6
🕐 6:30 to 8:30 PM
📍 At ACCM 3660 Calixa-Lavallée

✨Workshop Details
This workshop explores how your community, your well-being (in general and relating to your intimate life), and a more compassionate perspective toward yourself and others can be connected. We’ll look at what these things mean to you, and then examine how others have understood them. Finally, we’ll bring these pieces together through some exercises. The goal (and my hope) for this evening is for everyone to leave feeling a bit lighter and more gentle toward themselves and others.

✨ Facilitator
Regina-Maria Neppel( Regina-Maria Neppel (she/her/elle) holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from Concordia University. She is currently an intern at the EROSS Lab and a research assistant at the Wrosch Lab: Personality, Aging and Health Research Laboratory.

Her research interests are, broadly speaking, well-being and interpersonal relationships. This includes exploring how societal norms may shape our intimate life (especially how they may circumscribe the possibilities we understand to be available to us) and how we negotiate daily life in relation to beauty standards. Regina-Maria works to center support for survivors of sexual violence’s sexual self-determination in all her projects, including those related to sexuality and consent education.

CULTURAL GROOVE NIGHT
Workshop for all members
📅 June 26
🕐 6 to 8:30 PM
📍 At ACCM 3660 Calixa-Lavallée

Cultural Groove Night is a community-based dance workshop that explores connection, expression, and cultural identity through movement and music. The session includes guided salsa instruction, playful group activities, cultural sharing, and reflection moments. Participants are invited to move at their own pace in a safe and welcoming environment, regardless of dance experience.

The workshop blends warm-up exercises, beginner-friendly salsa steps, partner work, and opportunities for participants to share their own cultural dances and rhythms. The session ends with reflective group conversations to support emotional connection and grounding.

Julieta Torres is a facilitator and educator originally from Argentina. As a teen, she immigrated to Canada
during a socioeconomic crisis, and music and dance soon became a bridge to connect with her Latin
American community in Montréal, through various dances such as salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, and
more. Dance and music have since supported her physical and mental well-being, strengthened her
self-confidence, and deepened her connection to her body, while fostering a sense of connection and
bringing people together across cultures. Julieta holds a BA in Human Relations and is pursuing an MA in
Human Systems Interventions. A trained facilitator, Julieta works in Student Life and Engagement at
Concordia University and is also a Human Relations teaching assistant in the Applied Human Sciences
department.
