Kiki4Kids, is a non profit organization that seeks to collect funds for children of the Montreal Children's Hospital.

Kiki4Kids was a concept originally created by Keyanna Guité, a nine-year-old who had been diagnosed with Leukemia. She is now in her first year of remission, and is anxious to do more than ever! She was inspired and grateful for the services the Montreal Children's provided but she also recognized the enormous strain that having a kid with long term illness puts on the parents, friends, and family. So she decided to fight back, gifting food, parking, toys, crafts, and love.

The children were tucked into there beds with care, in the hopes that the elves would soon be there. Busy making goodies and joys, they came down from the hills to distribute their toys. .... What a wonderful day not only did you raise 1300 dollars for the Childrens Oncology Ward but you came to pay a visit too, shout out to Professor Brigitte Malard for organizing the trip and the event. Kiki4Kids is launching a call for submissions for its research journal :) Journal for the Reintegration into Education

Word limit 1000-3000, CMS citation style if needed.

Any and all persons with connections to any Children’s Hospitals in Quebec.

Any professional who has provided services to children attained by illness.

Any educator or administrator who has provided services which impact or affect children attained by illness.

Any persons with experiences revolving around illness and reintegration back into school after or during ongoing treatment.

Kiki4kids is launching a call for presenters to speak at its upcoming conference R.E.D. (Reintegration into Education Discussion) this coming February at the McGill University Faculty Club. The meeting is a day long (10am-8pm) and will include a pauses-caffé, lunch and a cocktail hour. Attendance will be free and open to all, but space will be limited. Each presenter will be asked to speak for no more than 30 minutes and allow for a question period following each presenter from the audience.

This round-table discussion is meant to bring together families, professionals, scholars, doctors, and the patients themselves to discuss the complexities of reintegration into the educational system after being removed from this system due to longterm-illness. The theme of this conference is the overlap between child development, health care, socialisation, and the home and the variety of challenges faced in these sectors by the patients' themselves.

If you would like to speak, please reply to this with a small snippet of the topic you would wish to present. Ticket registration will open to the public later this month.

Four years already, four years of ups and downs, joy and sadness, suffering and wonderment. Yesterday we marked the four year anniversary of Kiki's diagnosis. For those yet to come, know we are waiting - patient and kind; for those going through it - you can endure and we are with you; and for those who have gone through it we're always here come what may. So we send our wishes and love to affected families, friends, colleagues, and the friends we haven't met yet.

Life is a series of meetings and partings. So we wish well and send all our love to Dr. Amit Dotan, his wife Dr. Dotan, and their children as they take up this new adventure. In this age few doctors truly become part of their patients lives. For giving your personal number out for those midnight calls from desperate parents, for checking in by text just to see how your former patients are doing, for taking the time to say goodbye as you move to continue your research in paediatric Oncology. We send this little love note as a letter of introduction to our friends in Toronto.
