As Passover begins, we extend our warmest wishes to our friends, families, and community for a joyful and meaningful holiday.

Passover is a time of reflection, resilience, and renewal—a reminder of the strength found in coming together, supporting one another, and moving forward with hope. These values are at the heart of everything we do at the Auxiliary.

As we gather around our tables with loved ones, we are also reminded of those who may be facing challenges. Through your ongoing support, we are able to continue providing comfort, care, and essential resources to patients and families at the Jewish General Hospital.

In the 1950s, long before patient experience became a formal part of healthcare, the women of the Jewish General Hospital Auxiliary were already leading the way.

Through initiatives like the Canteen Cart, volunteers brought reading material, newspapers, small comforts, and moments of connection directly to patients’ rooms.

What may look like a simple cart was something much more: a program organized, operated, and sustained by women who believed care extended beyond medicine.

For generations, the Auxiliary has been powered by women who saw a need and built meaningful ways to meet it.

This International Women’s Day, we honour the women who helped shape our hospital’s past — and the women who continue to show up, carry the legacy forward, and keep it alive today.

The spirit of the Auxiliary continues... ❤️‍🩹
