Today we mark Jackie’s 11th yahrzeit. Eleven tragic years without her by our side, with her only in our hearts.

Over the years we learned to hold space for both the grief, the longing and the love of Jackie.
Grief changes over time but does not become easier to bear. The pain of Jackie’s loss did not fade, it rather somehow became more familiar, part of the fabric of our lives.
Her ideas and her special way of experiencing life, the nuance she would have contributed to our lives and to the world are gone but carried deep in our hearts daily. We try to hold on to her simple adage of “Life is for living”!

Her light continues to guide us as we carry her forward along side us through the work we do at the foundation and all the lives we touch on her behalf.

We thank you for remembering and caring and for all the times and ways you let us know that. You are part of our journey of bringing Jackie forward with us and we are eternally grateful for that.

Let’s influence positive change in health, education and wellbeing, in Jackie’s name and spirit.

The Jaclyn Fisher Foundation was conceived as a family foundation by Jackie herself, and later was created in her name and memory by her parents and sister.

Jackie Lea Fisher was an extraordinary young woman whose life was tragically cut short at age twenty-five. Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at nine years old and with Primary Peritoneal cancer at the young age of 21, Jackie continuously embraced life to the fullest, always supporting others with abundant love.

Jackie was kind, generous, dedicated and passionately believed in the possibility of change for the better.
